四分

The [lang id =1028]法相 Dharmalakṣana school divides the function of [lang id =1028]識 cognition into four, i. e. [lang id =1028]相分 mental phenomena, [lang id =1028]見分 discriminating such phenomena, [lang id =1028]自證分 the power that discriminates, and [lang id =1028]證自證 the proof or assurance of that power. Another group is: [lang id =1028]信 faith, [lang id =1028]解 liberty, [lang id =1028]行 action, and [lang id =1028]證 assurance or realization.

唯識宗對於心境的關係， 認為由主觀的識， 用以了別客觀的現象， 可以分作四分來解釋， 即相分、 見分、 自證分、 證自證分。 相分就是由識所變現的外境； 見分就是能緣境的見照作用， 自緣其所變的相分； 自證分就是證知見分者； 證自證分就是自證分的內向作用， 由返照的結果， 證知其自證分者。
